THE DUTCH

(‘Thinking of Holland, I see wide rivers flowing slowly through endless lowlands’.)

This series of abstract landscapes almost seems a visualization of these famous Dutch verses. Many layers of paint and texture visualize the parcelling of these endless lowlands. These are our Dutch polders, meadows and fields from a bird’s eye view.

Lovers of her work immediately recognize the warm, earthly use of colour and the layering with various textures in this series.

Layer over layer, sometimes so many that a relief emerges from this layered structure. But there is never a preconceived plan. These works were created intuitively, led by the atmosphere of the moment.
